International Relationship As an ASEAN country, Myanmar Medical Association is the active member of MASEAN (Medical Association of South East Asia Nations). The MMA has close ties with the Thai Medical Association and Singapore Medical Association and representatives of each association attend the other association’s annual medical conference. Specialities Socialities are also members of Asia and Pacific Associations of their speciality. The MMA also collaborates with UN agencies like UNICEF, WHO, UNDP, UNFPA, UNOPS and Non-governmental Organization like World Vision International, Medicins du Monde, Care Australia, Population Services International, and Japanese aids like Grass Root Grant Assistance (GRGA) to assist in certain health projects in the country like HIV/AIDS prevention, care and health education. Membership There are two types of membership which can be applied for whom have following eligible criteria. To be life membership, - A person who have qualified medical graduation with valid SAMA registration accredited by Myanmar Medical Council.
- A person who have clear record on medical professional field.
- A person who can pay 10000 kyats for registration fees.
To be pro membership, - A person who have recent qualified medical graduation without having obtaining SAMA registration.
- A person who have clear record on medical professional field.
- A person who can pay 500 kyats for registration fees.
- To be accepted as pro-member, there must be a person who hold valid life membership to give endorsement for him/her.
